U-JIA [Nostalgia] / 유지아 [노스탤지어]는 1990년대와 2000년대의 감성을 소환하는 동시에, 지금의 우리 삶과 감정에도 이어지는 시티팝, 인디팝 위주의 컨셉 앨범 리스트입니다.
시티팝은 한국에서 다시 유행하고 있지만, 사실은 1980년대 일본 도시 문화에서 태어나 경제 호황과 소비문화의 확산 속에서 팝·재즈·펑크·디스코 등 서구 음악을 세련되게 차용한 장르입니다. 화려한 네온과 청량한 멜로디로 도시의 풍요를 노래했지만, 그 속에는 언제나 외로움과 허무, 그리고 아이러니가 숨어 있었습니다.
그러나 1990년대 초 버블경제가 붕괴하면서 일본은 장기 경제침체, 이른바 ‘잃어버린 10년’으로 들어섰습니다. 화려했던 소비문화가 급격히 사라지고, 시티팝 역시 주류에서 밀려나며 시대의 아이러니를 상징하는 음악으로 남게 되었습니다.
「달의 몰락」은 이런 전통을 이어받아, 겉으로는 청량한 멜로디와 세련된 사운드를 띠지만 그 속에는 사랑의 끝과 세대의 몰락이라는 공허한 메시지를 담고 있습니다.
